Doris Lim, the owner of "CreativeThinkingForWomen.com", has only one thing in mind when she started this site, and that is to create awareness to the general public that you don't have to be a "rocket scientist" to have "creative thinking".  She believes that no one should be thought of as being smarter or more creative just because one possesses a higher education.  Of course, that helps.  But, she believes that anyone can be taught to "think creatively".  All one has to do is tap into that brain one has been born with and bring out the creative side.  With so much knowledge and information available on the internet nowadays, it will take alot of effort, energy and time to select the best authors, articles, tips and "how-to's" to come together in a creative process in this site and make it the "1-Stop Centre for Creative Thinking".  And because Doris is a woman, this site will be dedicated to all women, thus the name "CreativeThinkingForWomen.com".

A little bit of history about Doris.  Having both an Asian and European background (Chinese and Portuguese), her thoughts are equally governed by both the East as well as the West.  That accounts for her love of the English Language (she's being accused of having a British accent when she converses with Americans) and her obsession with Korean television serials (obviously, she has to make do with English subtitles).  But, enough chit-chat.

Her credentials stem from her extensive years of experience working with "great minds" who "think creatively" and "act creatively".  She has prepared speeches for politicians, consumer activists, assisted authors and researchers in the production of books and newsletters and also dabbled in the advertising and public relations sector.

Thus her quest now - to boldly go where no mind has gone before (no, we're not watching "Star Trek") and seek the BEST stuff out there in the "Cyber World" in order to share with her readers/subscribers, the various aspects of "Creative Thinking".

It’s that time of the year again – when the roads are deserted ’cos everyone’s home watching “American Idol”.  Well, maybe I’m exaggerating just a little bit here.  It’s still quite early in the game.  We’ve just “breezed” through the “auditions”.  Funny actually.  This year feels kinda quick, or am I the only one thinking and feeling so?

And no MAJOR talents/potential stars-in-the-making creating an immediate impact as yet!!  At least not on me anyway.  Sigh!!  Where are the voices of tomorrow??  Well, let’s put a big HOPE for Hollywood Week, shall we??

Now, normally I would have a hundred and one things going through my mind each time I view “American Idol”, and time and time again I would tell myself that I’m going to publish my “rants, raves and ramblings” on either my alter-ego’s blog at http://www.AkitaWoof.com or post it under the category “Creative Works” at my niche site at http://www.CreativeThinkingForWomen.com.

However, it would always remain so – just thoughts and feelings – nothing gets published.  And week after week, the emotions would gain momentum and finally by the time the FINALE arrives, and the WINNER is announced, all the pent-up emotions built up would just explode, especially if MY CHOICE was not CHOSEN!!

Now, most of the time, I would predict correctly and happily so ’specially as they were also my “favorites”, except for last year.  2009 – the year when America made a HUGE MISTAKE ’cos Adam Lambert was not chosen.  Let’s hope that 2010 will not be a repeat of last year!!

There – I said it, finally!!!

Why blog/write about Adam Lambert now, you ask??  Well, I wanted the “furore” from last year’s musical tragedy to die down completely before I publish my “2-cents worth”.  By this time, everyone would “realise” that if they had been fair with their judgement, Adam would have emerged the winner.  Unfortunately, a lot of things were being “judged” so to speak, and they have nothing to do with the “singing”.  Other factors come into play and I need not put them in writing here.  You know it, I know it, most everybody knows it, and that’s all there is to it.  What’s done is done.

Being an avid reader of Lyndsey Parker’s column “Reality Rocks” which features reviews of “American Idol”, it got me thinking about finally penning my thoughts about the previous season.  My earlier favourite was actually Danny Gokey, but Adam Lambert slowly grew on me.

Now folks, if you recall, Adam was really quite boyishly charming right from the start.  He had “Star” quality from the word “Go” and yet, he did not “flaunt” it.  To me, he did everything right.  He knew who he was, sang beautifully and entertained us in more ways than one.  So, what exactly went wrong??  Well, politics rears its ugly head even in the entertainment world.

“People politics” are found everywhere.  I guess to be an “idol”, you have to conform to the rules of those who think they know what the “right” music should be.  Also, if you are just a little “controversial” by ordinary standards, there goes any chance of winning anything altogether, especially when it comes to “mass voting”.

Now, don’t get me wrong.  I’m no fan of certain types of music but that doesn’t mean I do not appreciate them.  Also, I may not support certain lifestyles, but to each his own, I say.  But do the rest of the world think like I do??  I guess not.

Judge “music” for music alone and nothing more.  That’s what I think.

Back to the present.  Now that Adam has gained worldwide “recognition” from his stint in last year’s “AI” and still maintaining his “popularity”, let me just share a few clips with you.

To prove my point about “judging” him solely on his “singing”, see for yourself or should I say “hear” for yourself the first videoclip below, of the studio recording on his rendition of the band, Tears for Fears’s popular song “Mad World”.  I especially selected this particular videoclip ’cos it contains the lyrics to the song and I think his “angelic” (yes, “angelic” I say) voice coupled with the wordings made the listening experience more pleasurable and meaningful.  Try it.  I think you will like it.

Then, view the second and third videoclips of a 2-part Front Porch Interview by Lyndsey Parker.  A very laid-back “adorable”, boyish Adam Lambert awaits you.  See – success hasn’t changed him!!  And judging from this interview, he not only sounds sensible but is smart as well, “business-smart” ie.  He’ll have me as a devoted “fan” for a very long time...

Have I converted YOU yet??  Lol!!!
