Doris Lim

Doris Lim, the owner of "CreativeThinkingForWomen.com", has only one thing in mind when she started this niche site, and that is to create awareness to the general public that you don't have to be a "rocket scientist" to have "creative thinking".  She believes that no one should be thought of as being smarter or more creative just because one possesses a higher education.  Of course, that helps a little.  But, she believes that anyone can be taught to "think creatively".  All one has to do is tap into that brain one has been born with and bring out the creative side.  With so much knowledge and information available on the internet nowadays, it will take alot of effort, energy and time to select the best authors/writers, articles, tips and "how-to's" to come together in a creative process in this niche site and make it the "1-Stop Centre for Creative Thinking".  And because Doris is a woman, this website will be dedicated to all "women", thus the name "CreativeThinkingForWomen.com" (Softly whispering... "men" are also welcome to visit).

A little bit of history about Doris.  Having both an Asian and European background (Chinese and Portuguese), her thoughts are equally governed by both the East as well as the West.  That accounts for her love of the English Language (she's being accused of having a British accent when she converses with Americans) and her obsession with Korean television serials (obviously, she has to make do with English subtitles).  But, enough chit-chat.

Her credentials stem from her extensive years of experience working with "great minds" who "think creatively" and "act creatively".  She has prepared speeches for politicians, consumer activists, assisted authors and researchers in the production of books and newsletters and also dabbled in the advertising and public relations sector.

Thus her quest now - to boldly go where no mind has gone before (no, we're not watching "Star Trek") and seek the BEST stuff out there in the "Cyber World" in order to share with her readers/subscribers, the various aspects of "Creative Thinking".

All great movies are usually inspired by true events and I selected this one in particular due to the “extraordinary” talent and “creative” acting on the part of the main cast.

All great movies are usually inspired by true events and I selected this one in particular due to the “extraordinary” talent and “creative” acting on the part of the main cast.  Now, don’t expect the usual run-of-the-mill listing of the names of the male and female leads or you’ll be sorely disappointed.  That’s right.  I won’t be mentioning who the “human” actors/actresses are in this Walt Disney distribution.

Instead I will only mention 8 names and they are, in no random order:

DJ, Koda, Apache, Sitka, Floyd, Jasper, Noble and Flapjack

Don’t recognise the names?  Well, let’s try it another way.  What about:

Max, Maya, Old Jack, Truman, Dewey, Shorty, Shadow and Buck
(all are Siberian Huskies except for the last 2 being Alaskan Malamutes)

That better?  If you still don’t recognise anyone up there, then you’ve truly missed a great, absolutely must-see DOG Movie.  Yup, that’s what I said – it’s a DOG (sob-sob) Movie that all you dog-lovers must see!!

The fact that it’s compounded with being the “fictional adaptation of the events” pertaining to an actual real-life ill-fated Japanese expedition to Antarctica in 1958 which first inspired a Japanese hit movie called “Nankyoku Monogatari” in 1983, has made it even more “heart-wrenching” to watch.  But for this version, fast-forward to 1993 (the final year that sled dogs were used in the Antarctica) and we have the 2006 movie “Eight Below”.

The Japanese version (which I have yet to locate) was apparently more tragic as far as survival count was concerned (remember, we’re still talking “dogs”, not “humans”).  I won’t publish any “spoilers” here for those who have yet to catch this “flick”.  I almost did when I selected one particular YouTube videoclip.  But the scenes therein were pretty obvious as to who survived and who didn’t.  So instead, I’m giving you the “trailer” to the movie to allow you to catch a glimpse of what I’m “raving” about.

Believe me, I’ve seen plenty “dog” movies and this one “takes the cake” by a mile.  It was reported that these 8 “Super Stars” (best dog actors in my book) were assisted by over 30 dogs in performing the stunts and sled-pulling (they are after all “sled dogs”).  And a little tit-bit here for you to "chow" on (woof-woof!!):  Some of the canine stars had also acted in another Disney production, “Snow Dogs”.  Now, that one you must have seen.

Enough said, let’s watch the trailer…
