Doris Lim, the owner of "CreativeThinkingForWomen.com", has only one thing in mind when she started this niche site, and that is to create awareness to the general public that you don't have to be a "rocket scientist" to have "creative thinking". She believes that no one should be thought of as being smarter or more creative just because one possesses a higher education. Of course, that helps a little. But, she believes that anyone can be taught to "think creatively". All one has to do is tap into that brain one has been born with and bring out the creative side. With so much knowledge and information available on the internet nowadays, it will take alot of effort, energy and time to select the best authors/writers, articles, tips and "how-to's" to come together in a creative process in this niche site and make it the "1-Stop Centre for Creative Thinking". And because Doris is a woman, this website will be dedicated to all "women", thus the name "CreativeThinkingForWomen.com" (Softly whispering... "men" are also welcome to visit).
A little bit of history about Doris. Having both an Asian and European background (Chinese and Portuguese), her thoughts are equally governed by both the East as well as the West. That accounts for her love of the English Language (she's being accused of having a British accent when she converses with Americans) and her obsession with Korean television serials (obviously, she has to make do with English subtitles). But, enough chit-chat.
Her credentials stem from her extensive years of experience working with "great minds" who "think creatively" and "act creatively". She has prepared speeches for politicians, consumer activists, assisted authors and researchers in the production of books and newsletters and also dabbled in the advertising and public relations sector.
Thus her quest now - to boldly go where no mind has gone before (no, we're not watching "Star Trek") and seek the BEST stuff out there in the "Cyber World" in order to share with her readers/subscribers, the various aspects of "Creative Thinking".

Firstly, I have to tell my readers that my laptop is operating without any “sound” at this very moment. In fact, it’s been “out of commission” for a whole lotta weeks now. But, this article is not about my “rants” about the shortcomings of “techno” gadgets or the like so I won’t harp too much on it.
The only connection it has with this post is to explain why I am embedding a videoclip that may or may not be in ENGLISH. Yup!! You may be listening to the DUTCH language!! Should be interesting, eh??
Anyway, my point is that even without the background sound or listening to the dialogue, this particular videoclip is still “creatively” interesting.
I have always believed that the sound effects in movies play a big part in making us viewers react to the scenes/actors/actresses, whatever. They sometimes could actually contribute to the success or failure in the film world, especially those blockbuster movies. And where would “horror” movies be without its sound effects?
Therefore, it is surprising to me that this videoclip could still pull it off even when I could not hear an iota of sound. Zilch!! Not even one.
My cyber contact (the one who recommended this videoclip) actually was nice enough to send me another version (which he says is in “English”). However, being the stubborn person as I usually am, I’ll be embedding the earlier one he submitted to me – which like I say, may be in “Dutch”. I thought it would be more “interesting” to publish this particular take.
However, when I finally do fix my laptop “sound” and listen to this videoclip (hopefully soon), and discover that it’s not in “English”, I’ll definitely do the necessary and replace it with the “universal language”. Happy everyone?? Lol!!
Anyhow, back to this videoclip. Basically, it has something to do with “tracking the impact of social media – on a global scale”.
What with each and every one of us being involved internet-wise, I find it absolutely necessary to at least include this all-encompassing topic to my niche site. After all, whoever started the birth of “cyberspace” is super super “creative”, no??
Now, the videoclip is aptly called “The Future Internet: Service Web 3.0”. But I just like it for its visuals – simple, cartoonish illustrations that “talk” to you.
The saying “A picture paints a thousand words” come to mind and publishing this on my niche site at this stage in time (ie when I could not “view” the sound) is the point I’m making about my philosophy in life. Which is what, you ask?
Well, we can all “communicate” our thoughts and feelings even though we don’t speak the same language. We can “hear”, “listen” and “understand” each other and “connect” with each other if we choose to ie if we really want to and not because we have to.
And not have all those “confrontations” we see every day in the news.
Like what “The Beatles” used to say (or should I say SING): “Give P E A C E a chance…and all we are saying is… altogether now…
