If “animations” were applied in classrooms during my time, I for one would not be yawning my head off like what I normally do back then. Yes, sometimes it took quite a bit of concentration not to doze off in the middle of a lecture. Blame it on the boring topics/subjects, blame it on the teachers (monotone voices that just go on and on), blame it on their learning tools (or lack of), heck! you can even blame it on the weather (sometimes it’s too hot, other times too cold??). Lol!!

Well, what it generally boils down to is this: every beginning of the school year, I look forward to a new classroom, a new desk (well, maybe not that “new”), sometimes new classmates (tho’ I normally just hang out with my old “clique”) and of course, new teachers to fill our brains with yet another year of facts and data which may or may not be of any use to us in the near future.

And each year, I look forward to striving very hard towards achieving another step up in the education level/grade which every normal child around the world is expected to accomplish (think “nagging” parents). But no amount of wishful thinking on my part would get me to stay focussed on the year’s educational curriculum. The first couple of months would breeze by (that’s when my “brain” is at its “peak” performance). Yup! My mind’s a regular sponge at this early point in time. Then slowly as the months go by, I drift off and find
myself falling into an abyss so deep that only when it nears the end of the year, I would suddenly spring from my “comatose” state and attempt to cramp the entire year’s studies into what’s contained inside my cranium and half the time, I considered myself fortunate to get through the final year exams to proceed to the next grade.

The point I’m making or at least trying to make here is that if only “animations” (such as the one I’m about to share with you) could have been applied in order to “motivate” less-than-attentive students like what I was back then into staying focussed and interested enough to maintain a consistent learning frame of mind throughout the year. Well, I’m now way past my “school days” stage (lol!!), but maybe someone out there might consider this as an alternative learning tool, yes? No??

RSA Animate has quite a collection of “creative” animations to drive their points across. The one I selected was perhaps more close to my heart and mind (creatively-speaking ie). It’s based primarily on the subject of “motivation” and the different “creative” ways employed to get things done. Being “educational, enlightening and entertaining” (my website’s 3E’s), I think I found a doozy-of-a-gem videoclip that you will be thrilled with. I was and so should you…
