To say I was a little “miffed” about Paris Tassin’s departure after her group performed during “Hollywood Week” is surely an understatement as far as “AI” rants go. And to add insult to injury, we don’t even get to see the whole performance to determine if this was a justifiable judgement.

I am so very disappointed with this outcome so early in the competition. If she was eliminated when she performs her solo act right after the Group Round, it would at least have showcased her individual strength or weakness among her peers. (Note: This is after all, a competition for solo “Singers” NOT “Bands” or “Groups”. Hello??) However, not being the case, it leaves me wondering if she was “let go” early due to some other reasons? The term “conspiracy theory” comes into mind again.

After being so conspicuously showcased, J. Lo tears and all not to mention the “heartbreaking” sob story inclusion, there’s no way this talented potential, beautiful voice and the looks to match who’s already found a fan base in “yours truly” ought not be given the consideration to proceed to the next round. Having witnessed less-talented Idol wannabes, less-satisfying performances and more-emotional/dramatic scenes from a few other contestants during
the Group Round that made it through surely speaks volumes as to the unforgivable error made by the judges in their decision-making. I wonder if the outcome would have been different if Simon Cowell had still been around. Oh, Simon! Where are you when you are most needed. Sigh!!

I am so disheartened after viewing tonight’s segment on my tele that I decided not to voice my opinion about the rest of the Idol wannabes except this little portion that I just had to pen. I’m not sure if the reception of the “AI” clips we get to watch in our country is different from those in the US. I am aware that we get it a little later but whether a portion had been “censored” (which I doubt) or that too many advertisements had occupied the time slot had resulted in the airing as such. Well, that’s business for you – the commercial marketing sector will do that to you – every single time. Regardless, the point I’m trying to make here is the stark absence of many of the earlier “highlighted” contestants. Had they been eliminated or are they still in for the running? Well, I’ll get to find out tomorrow, hopefully.

The only other good news is that my other “favorite” James Durbin is still around. For a second there, there was a suspenseful moment that he would not have made it through either. Ah… one of these days, I’d probably suffer a coronary during an “AI” segment.
