If you’ve ever doubted the pure magic that Adam Lambert exudes when he appears on stage, you no longer will if you had watched him perform on “American Idol Top 13 Results Night”. Even without his usual “glamorous” persona, he still rocks!! Clad in a “toned-down” attire for this all important night when the “Judges’ Save” is up for grabs to the unfortunate contestant voted out tonight, Adam sits comfortably next to a guitarist who starts strumming to the tune of “Aftermath”. And for the entire time he was singing, I completely forgot that I was watching “American Idol”. Yup, I was completely transfixed on this guy who did not make it as an “AI” winner when he competed not too many years ago.

For a moment there, it was like I was in an Adam Lambert concert and was half expecting him to continue with more of his hit songs. I have always felt even back then that this very talented young man, in spite of the “over the top” performances he displayed during the season he tried out for “AI”, does actually have a softer side to him which when put to good use would melt even the most cynical of us all. And tonight
when he appeared as a guest in “American Idol”, he proved to all of us who’s tuned in to listen to his beautiful voice casually mouthing the lyrics to “Aftermath” that his was a voice to be reckoned with… for a very long time to come. I personally think that he really could sing anything. I know it sounds like a cliché but honestly, the boy could sing!!

Adam Lambert’s acoustic delivery of “Aftermath” was likened to a folk singer telling a story while sitting around a campfire in the warm glow of the night. Makes you wanna grab your old guitar and knapsack and head over to the nearest forest. Nature beckons way yonder, I say! Lol!!

Anyhow, Adam’s appearance on this “Top 13 Results Night” was the highlight of the evening. My 2 top favorites were safe from tonight’s elimination. Yes, both James Durbin and Thia Megia will be singing their hearts out to us once again next week and I will be perched on my old sofa with Akita my border-collie-mix cheering them on as always. Until then, here’s a videoclip of Adam Lambert “wowing” us with “Aftermath”:
