Is this another elimination shocker like last week when Pia Toscano’s early exit shocked the entire nation and even managed to evoke tweets from celebrities (from movies, television and music alike)? Well after last week’s unexpected results, we could say that when it was announced that Paul McDonald would be the one to leave, it was a tad less dramatic.

For folks like myself who may not always agree with the judges’ opinions or the American voters’ selections, it really made no difference as to who landed at the bottom of the voters’ heap because it is obvious that each week, some one has to leave – well, as long as it is not my man James Durbin.

But the order in which each contestant has been eliminated did come as a surprise, starting with the time when my gal Thia Megia had to say bye-bye. And then last week, even though I had never been a fan of Pia Toscano, the fact that she was eliminated so early in the competition did take me by surprise simply because I was with the impression that she still had a huge fan base (if not the largest but at least somewhere in the
middle).

And so, what a surprise it was. And now it’s Paul McDonald’s turn. Even though his latest stab on “Movies Night” did nothing for me (I am after all quite impossible to please, lol!!), still I would not think for a moment that American voters had turned their backs on this very quirky and interesting individual so early in the game. Well, so much for “overnight” fame. So come next week – no more antics (we’re talking the 2-step dance routine) from the likes of Paul.

Anyway, this evening would have been an absolutely boring “Results Night” for the “Top 8” if not for the presence and performance of “American Idol” Season 1 winner Kelly Clarkson. Singing a duet with Jason Aldean (up and coming country singer), she “killed” the night with her powerful vocals. Here to share with you is a videoclip of “Do You Wanna Stay”. The remaining 7 Idol contestants ought to see how she handles the song with such ease and skill. Watch and learn kiddos!!
