There is certainly no doubt that things begin to “sizzle” when you witness these 2 together. Whether “on” or “off” stage, Kirstie Alley and her dance partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy certainly gets the “heat” going. Yes, no argument there. The “hot” chemistry between these 2 in this season’s “Dancing With The Stars” is definitely something to look forward to each week as I search online for a videoclip on their latest dance stint.

It is most unfortunate that this popular dance reality show is not broadcasted by my country’s free television stations. I wonder why? Anyway, thank God for YouTube. Yes, it is with much anticipation that I await the kind folks who took the trouble to upload the latest week’s performances of the contenders of “Dancing With The Stars”.

This week, I found a clip which showcased not only the performance during the actual night itself but also the earlier rehearsal scene which had quite a comical turnout. When Kirstie announced to Maksim that she’s bringing in a “dance doctor”, who should walk in but Kirstie’s old actor pal, the one and only John Travolta. Yes, he who has been responsible for single-handedly elevating “dancing” to a different level altogether after starring in 2 major dance films “Saturday Night Fever” and “Grease”. Although Kirstie did not perform in these 2 movies, who could forget the rapport she had with John Travolta when she starred alongside him in all those “Look Who’s Talking” movies, from the original to its sequels. Anyhow, John came to their “rescue” with all kinds of “dancing advice” and the whole thing turned out to be quite a “riot”.

Then on the night itself, what with the
opening sequence of Maks ripping his T-shirt, exposing his toned torso and displaying his fake “American Flag” tattoo, both partners “sizzled” their way to a score of 23 while performing a sexy “foxtrot” to the tune of “American Woman” during this week’s theme “America Night”. No “mishaps” this time, to the delight of the audience.

I must say that I enjoy all 3 judges’ lively commentaries every time they open their mouths. From Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba to Bruno Tonioli they are certainly an engaging “trio”.

Ralph Macchio and partner Karina Smirnoff performed a “samba” this week but unfortunately, the blend of a Brazilian/American/Southern fusion Cowboy Samba did not get my vote. I was a little disappointed with their performance tonight and so did the judges who only awarded them a score of 22. I personally think the costume and the dance routine looked quite “corny” to say the least. Come on, “Karate Kid” – let’s see some real moves here. Ralph looked mighty uncomfortable when he tried to keep up with Karina’s swift moves while they did their foxtrot with “Sweet Home Alabama” sounding in the background.

On the results after tallying the judges’ scores with the home viewer votes, it was announced that it was time for supermodel Petra Nemcova and her professional partner Dmitry Chaplin to exit the competition.

The following videoclips of my 2 “favorites” will surely amuse you, especially the one featuring Kirstie Alley. So go on, click on them and let’s put a “smile” on your face.
