I have just heard of the demise of Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson - all in the space of a few hours, while I was busy posting on this site, http://www.CreativeThinkingForWomen.com.

Right now, it's 10.24 am (my country's timezone) and I have not gone to bed yet.  I decided to pen my thoughts on my other blog, http://www.AkitaWoof.com, and now felt inclined to also carry the contents on this site within my "blog" section.  The reason is obvious.  We have lost many "talented" and "creative" celebrities in our lifetime.  But to find out about their passing while I was typing for just a few short hours, it gives me a feeling of life being so short and fleeting... you know what I mean?

Anyway, read on.  The following is the post published on my other website.  Consider my double posting as my dedication to 3 very outstanding "creative" artistes in their chosen professions.  Feel free to share my blogs with your loved ones.

David, Farrah and Michael - May You Rest In Peace!!!

QuoteUnquote:

I am usually rather long-winded in my postings, but this one will not be such.  The reason will be revealed to you as you continue reading.

I was just sms’d by my youngest brother that the Pop King, Michael Jackson has just died.  And, it was just a few hours ago that I discovered the passing of another icon, Farrah Fawcett.  And if you add together David Carradine’s death just a little while back, you will remember the old saying, “All Bad Things Come In 3’s”.  And, it certainly did for these 3 special human beings - all talented in their various fields and universally idolised in their times.

The reason I will not go on and on about them is very obvious.  They are ICONS to the whole world!!

Who has not heard of the “Kung Fu” star, David Carradine…

or

Who has not heard of “Charlie’s Angels” pioneer angel, Farrah Fawcett…

or

Who has not heard of “Thriller” and its association to music’s one and only Michael Jackson…

I will be brief here because you’re all probably more informed of these 3’s backgrounds than I could ever lay claim to.

And, there are plenty of websites and blogs and news reporting about them this very moment.

My only connection to these 3 icons is this:

Firstly, my memories of the series “Kung Fu - The Legend Continues”.  I had a major

“crush” on the actor who played the son to David Carradine’s character -  I think his name is Chris Potter.  I’ve always wondered what happened to him after the series ended.  In those days, you don’t have an “online” means to find out.  That’s right!  It was pretty “prehistoric” in those days, and yes, I’m a dinosaur!!

Secondly, I used to own a Farrah Fawcett T-shirt (the famous bathing suit pix).  It was a gift from my American ex-boss.  On his frequent trips back from the States, he would bring back tons of T-shirts for the staff and I remember grabbing the FF-T ‘cos I was such a “Charlie’s Angels” fan.  It’s a pity that I threw it away when I left my old apartment.  The funny thing is, I had an instinct that it would be of value some day.  Still…  Never would have thought in a million years that there’ll come a time when “old junk” might be sought after on E-bay, or that there would be an E-bay in the first place.

And, last but certainly not least, the Boy Wonder himself.  How could I have made it through all those years of “wrong relationships” during my teens without those tunes from the Jackson 5, especially Michael Jackson.  Ah… I can still hear his youthful, high-pitched clear-sounding voice belting out “Ben”, “I’ll Be There” and many, many more…

So, to keep my promise of making this a short post (but I obviously couldn’t make it brief), the last thing I want to say is this.  To all the people who have ever said or written such awful things about Michael Jackson or any celebrities from the entertainment world, “Shame On You!!!”

They may have their faults, but they are after all just human beings.  They breathe the same air as anyone else.  They may have more money (lots, lots more), may be more famous and might do “outrageous” things, but they have given us so many hours of joy, in the roles they play or the songs they sing.  And, they all have feelings, just like you and I.  So, think twice before you sound your “meaness” upon them.  Ask yourself why you are about to do what you are about to do, yes??

I am as guilty as the next person when I say nasty things about a friend or foe, but the stuff one reads about nowadays (especially online) are just beyond belief!!

Life is short… very short, my friends…  One of these days when there are no more postings, it probably also means that I’m gone.  So, let’s reflect for a moment.  We can still vent out our anger or frustrations, but let’s try to tone it down a notch, huh??

‘Cos it’ll surely be too late to say you’re sorry after someone dies…
